In September, our normal training sessions will resume at Departure Bay Elementary School.
Training dates are Monday and Wednesday 7:00 – 8:00 for juniors. Parents are welcome to train with their children.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:00-8:30 for senior belts
For July and August 2025, we are currently training every Tuesday and Thursday at Oliver Woods Community Centre, upstairs in Salal 1 room from 7 to 8, until the end of August. It is an all ages class, but may train separate.
The return date to Departure Bay School gym in September is Sept 8th. 2025 .
We train at Departure Bay Elementary School gym when the schools are open.
Children/youth classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-8 (Parents can train with their children).
Adults train on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7-8:30.
Please enter the dojo through the gym’s side doors (far left side of the building when facing it from the parking loop), not the main gym entrance (closest to parking loop).

We’re back at Departure Bay Elementary School gym as of Monday, September 12th. Children/youth and adult classes are being combined on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-8:30 (children can choose to train until 8 or 8:30, depending on attention span and interest). This is to allow parents/guardians and their kids to train together. Friday 7-8:30 will continue to be adults (22+) only.

Sempai Robyn successfully passed her nidan (2nd degree black belt) grading, which Christian is now Sempai Christian, after passing his shodan (1st degree black belt). Congratulations to you both!
As of Wednesday, 9 February 2022, we’re back at Departure Bay Elementary School. Please see the updated COVID plan for return-to-school protocols. Our normal training times continue, although we’re still not returning to Doubles nights, in which adults and juniors train together.
As of today, January will see us still training at Departure Bay Activity Center.

JUNIORS Monday 6:30 – 7:30 Thursday 6:45 – 7:45 **note the 6:45!!
SENIORS Monday, Thursday 7:30 – 9 Friday 7-8:30 ** We will let you know more about Thursdays and arriving while juniors are training in the new year.
Expected nights off: No training Monday February 21 2022, Family Day. No training during Spring Break March 12 – March 27 2022.

Congratulations to all those in our junior and adult clubs who graded on Dec. 8th. You all did wonderfully, and we’re so happy to see you wearing your new colours!
Many thanks to Sensei Rob Ingram (7th dan) from Whitehorse, YK for coming down to lead our adult club in three days of training over the Nov. 19-21, 2021 weekend. We worked on the grading syllabus on Friday night, kihon and ten-no-kata on Saturday, and Tesshinkan Ryu Kyu Kobudo on Sunday.
